A nationally and internationally respected magazine for the field of theatre for young people published semi-annually, TYA Today offers insightful articles about current issues affecting theatre professionals, editorials and book reviews.

TYA Today is sent to TYA/USA members, subscribers, libraries across the United States, Puerto Rico, The District of Columbia. TYA TODAY has an estimated readership of 1400 leaders in the Theatre for Young Audience field. TYA TODAY is printed in four-color on 70-pound white coated sheet-fed offset with an 80-pound cover, saddle stitched. A typical issue is 42 to 48 pages.

Once the agreement is submitted. Artwork information will also be sent to you.

Create your camera-ready ad. All ads are in CMYK Full Color or black and white. Make sure to follow the size indications specified in the attached PDF (a full page back cover bleed ad is 8.5"w x 11"h; a full page interior non-bleed ad is 7.75" x 10.25.")  You can send your ad in the following formats:

Please provide 'print' setting PDF - make sure to embed fonts (by default with 'print' setting) and include 1/8" bleeds with crop marks (bleeds for back cover only).
EPS: Adobe Illustrator 8.0 version (please create outlines of all type and send photo tiff files if applicable)
QuarkXPress 4.1.1 file (must be Macintosh format). Collect all fonts and support files and please send a CD.
TIF, EPS: Photoshop 7.0. File should be 1200DPI. This is the least preferable format for a readable ad.

I. Payment
1. First-time advertisers must pay for their first insertion in advance to establish their account. This payment is due with the contracted space reservation.
2. Established advertisers will be invoiced for advertising space and related charges at the time of publication. We will accept checks and money orders in U.S. funds only, and Visa, MasterCard.  Accounts are payable within 30 days of the invoice date.
4. Ads will not be run, no new contracts will be honored, and other privileges may be suspended for agencies with accounts more than 90 days overdue. Once an account is brought up to date, pre-payment will be required for the next three insertions, until credit is re-established.
5. Failure of the advertiser to make the insertion order correspond to this agreement in price and/or specifications is regarded as a clerical error; the publisher will expect suitable production-ready copy, and will apply charges, according to specifications in the signed Advertising Agreement without further notice to the advertiser.
6. Advertisers and their agencies are jointly and severally liable for payment of all charges incurred for TYA TODAY advertising, including but not limited to all advertising space fees, production charges, and applicable service charges assessed for late payment. Statements on agency or advertiser insertion orders or contracts negating dual liability are superseded by this required condition.

II. Discounts
1. Multiple insertion discounts are shown on the rate card.
2. Freelance artists receive a 15% discount; International Artists, Companies, and Festivals receive a 10% Discount.

3. Discounts do not apply to color or other production charges.
4. Discounts are only available to advertisers in good financial standing and who do not have a balance in excess of 90 days from date of invoice.

III. Artwork
1. All ad material, including all copy and elements, is subject to the publisher’s approval.
2. When space is contracted and advertising files are not received by closing date, artwork of the same size on file from the most recent prior issue, if any, will be repeated.
3. Failure to submit material that corresponds to the specifications of the Advertising Submission Guidelines gives the publisher the option to either a) withhold the ad from publication and bill the advertiser at the contracted ad rate, or b) publish the ad and bill the advertiser at the rate corresponding to the actual material specifications or the contracted rate, whichever is greater, or c) bill for production work necessary to fulfill the insertion order on ads that do not meet material requirements. Production charges are non-commissionable.
4. The publisher will not be responsible for production quality if ad material fails to conform to the Advertising Submission Guidelines.

IV. Changes, cancellations, and liability
1. No cancellations will be accepted after the reservation due date. All instructions regarding contracts, insertion orders, and cancellations must be made in writing.
2. The publisher will make every effort to accommodate requests for changes to the ad after it is submitted, but assumes no responsibility to do so. Requests for copy changes must be made in writing, with the change clearly marked on a proof copy of the ad, and will be subject to a production charge of $100 per hour (prorated).
3. Advertisers and advertising agencies are jointly and severally liable for all content (text, representation, and illustrations) of advertising printed, and agree to hold harmless and defend the publisher from any claims arising from the content of advertising.
4. The publisher’s liability for any error will not exceed the cost of the space.
5. The publisher assumes no liability for errors in or omission of key numbers or reader service numbers.
6. All agreements are subject to delays or other conditions beyond the publisher’s control.
