Kaiser Permanente Educational Theatre Programs will be holding auditions for a male or female actor-puppeteer for the Performance Company in the Georgia Region.

Applicants must be able to convincingly play characters ranging from teenagers to 30 year-old+ business leaders.  Performance spaces include large-scale gyms or auditoriums, so the ability to project vocally and physically is a necessity. All ethnicities are encouraged to apply.

This is a permanent, full-time, paid position with benefits and not a short term contract. Must be willing to relocate to the Metro Atlanta, GA area.

Seeking actor-educators who want to focus their career in the field of educational and issue oriented theatre. The ideal candidate will be interested in using theatre to teach health education

The position is 40+ hours per week that can be scheduled Monday-Saturday, primarily day time hours with some evenings. In addition to performing, there will be some administrative and technical duties. See below for more details.

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Learn all requested performance rotations in Performance Company shows. Develop and perform assigned characters and roles, including understudy roles as requested.

Learn and maintain educational training to support Theatre Productions, including HIV information and other health conditions as assigned.

Perform necessary technical requirements. These include loading and  unloading the touring vehicle, set-up and strike of show and sound equipment, basic maintenance tasks and other maintenance duties as requested.

Must be willing to use theatre as an educational tool.

Create memorable, positive experiences. Must be able to find positive solutions to situations that occur both on the road and in the rehearsal studio with minimal supervision. Must be able to perform job duties and create best experience possible under varied circumstances.

Drive and/or have vehicle guiding skills. Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Complete daily assigned tour duties. These include navigating and/or driving company vehicles, completing activity records, light maintenance of vehicles  (fueling, cleaning, logging vehicle use and condition), and maintenance and light repair of set, costumes and props.

Assist in distributing collateral and promotional materials, help clean and maintain acceptable appearance of the rehearsal studio, and perform other duties on an as-needed basis to ensure the smooth operation of performances.
